The ultimate connection

Art means something different to everyone, but what does it mean to me and can I visually represent my personal meaning of art? This is what I am currently working on.

I chose to do a challenge where I pick a medium of art and visually represent what art means to me. I am not finished with it, but I am in the final stages. I chose watercolor paint as my medium and I plan on just thinking about art and letting my hand do the rest.

What does art mean to me? Simply, art means to feel. Art means emotion and passion. If it can be felt, it can be created outside of us. The piece itself is not the art, the emotions it pulls from the viewer and the passion that artists pour out of themselves physically to make it is the true art. The ultimate goal in my opinion is to make your viewer feel how you felt when you sat down to create the piece. The ultimate connection. This bonds and holds humans together. If I can let my pain out onto a canvas and thousands of people can not only pick up on it, but understand it then I have done my job as an artist. Every person has the ability to read emotions from visual sources so we use art to reach out and touch them. That is what art means to me. The ultimate connection from me to you, you to him, and him to her...
