"The Descent"
Probably the most terrifying horror movie you can watch is coming to theaters (metaphorically) and we were given the task of designing a poster for it!
This poster was created using my original photography, some photo editing tools, some photo filters, and typography tools in Photoshop. When creating a scary photo you'll want to give it a photo filter on the cooler side to portray hopelessness and despair...because you're not coming back out of that basement.
It is so important to get the moods right when taking horror photography. If you give a photo lots of light, warm happy tones, and happy typography it is not going to send the message that you want to send to your viewer. For the font, I got a poster advertising "American Horror Story" and used the "match font" tool on Photoshop to show me lots of free similar fonts that I could use to match that scary font that they used!
This was super fun to do and here is the finished product!
